Union County authorities continued to search for the killer of an 18-year-old Elizabeth man on Monday.

What is this?

Jonathan Landaverde became the fourth homicide victim this year in the county — all in Elizabeth, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park said.

Landaverde was taken to University Hospital in Newark and pronounced dead there just after 5 p.m. Monday. Park said he was shot several times in the 600 block of South Park Street.

An intensive joint investigation involving the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Elizabeth Police Department was continuing.

“A possible motive remains under investigation while evidence is examined and interviews are conducted,” Park said yesterday.

Anyone with information that can help the investigation is asked to call Union County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Sofia Santos or Detective Johnny Ho: (908) 325-3324.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment of Landaverde’s killer.
