ELIZABETH, N.J- Approximately 2,000 people are expected to gather on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, for a large-scale celebration of yet another Elizabeth Public Schools’ academic achievements.  The Perfect Scores Award Ceremony, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Dunn Sports Center at 151 Pearl Street in Elizabeth, will honor students who earned a perfect score on the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJ ASK) and their subject area teachers who were instrumental in helping these students achieve academic excellence.

Free Computer Skill Classes at Union County College

UNION COUNTY, N.J-Union County College is spreading the word to all business owners and managers in our area. Free classes are available for your employees in basic workforce skills. These open enrollment classes include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows and Basic Communications Skills, Math and Measurement, Customer Service and English as a Second Language. All are provided at no charge to employer or employee. The only requirement is that attendees are paid their usual hourly rate while attending class.

UNION COUNTY, N.J - Better English skills for everyone on your staff can improve service, expand your customer base and allow for better internal communication among employees. Now, businesses can bring the Industry-Business Institute of Union County College to their place of business to teach their employees basic English language skills.

Recently, the University Boulevard Project in Elizabeth held two English as a Second Language classes attended by store owners and employees in a single neighborhood to encourage better communication with customers. Classes were provided at no charge by the Industry-Business Institute at Union County College through a grant from the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA).
